This year we will be collecting Care Package items for our service men and women through the USO (United Service Organizations). The USO is the link between the American people and military personnel. Through the USO, we can show our appreciation and express our gratitude to our military. The USO, conceived in 1941 in response to a mandate from President Roosevelt, strives to bring a touch of home to our men and women in uniform until each and every one can come home. Below, you will find a list of needed items. TOLIETRIES: Eye Drops, Saline Nasal Spray, Tylenol, Tums, Toothbrushes/Toothpaste, Antibiotic Ointment, Body Wash/Shower Gel, Body/Foot Powder, Shampoo, Skin Cream/Lotion, Travel Size Baby Wipes, Bug Repellant (Off Deep Woods Towlettes). Maybe you or a family you know would benefit from Parent Project classes to improve family harmony. Thursday: Janis McLaughlin from Lake-Geauga Recovery will tell us about sweet alcohol drinks marketed to our children and other underage drinking. Friday: Janis will return with internet and electronic safety for families. Each evening's class is at 6:30. There will be handouts and time for questions. The Lighthouse sanctuary is air-conditioned and you will be done in plenty of time to get back to greet your child at VBS.
